About this item

Get your voice on the track with this Songwriting Kit from B&H that bundles a Solid State Logic SSL 2 MKII 2x2 USB-C Audio Interface with a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, a tripod mic stand with fixed boom, a pair of studio monitoring headphones, an XLR mic cable, and a pop filter for absorbing plosives like p's and t's.

Two High-Gain SSL Mic Pre / Line-Level Inputs

The SSL 2 MKII is equipped with two high-performance SSL-designed microphone preamps delivering a massive 64 dB gain range and outstanding 116.5 dB dynamic range.

The design uses a mixture of specially chosen discrete, low-noise transistors in combination with ICs to deliver performance far beyond what’s usually associated with a portable bus-powered interface.

Both mic/line channels are equipped with independently switchable high-pass filters to clean up rumble, and for condenser microphones, switchable +48V phantom power, so you can record with a mixture of microphone types at the same time.

The two XLR-1/4" combo inputs double up as line-level inputs, designed to capture keyboards, synths, samplers, drum machines, or external audio processors like EQs and compressors. With a huge 117 dB dynamic range and +24 dBu maximum input level, SSL 2 MKII’s line inputs are compatible with all professional line-level equipment.

Two Hi-Z / Instruments Inputs

In addition to the XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs on the back panel, SSL 2 MKII features two dedicated 1/4" auto-detect instrument (DI) inputs located on the front panel.

Just like you find on a guitar amp, these Hi-Z inputs allow you to record guitar, bass, or anything with a high-impedance output.

SSL-designed DIs—as found on their larger desk-top mixers—deliver amazing weight, detail, and texture to your instrument recordings, making sure you have the best possible sound to process in your DAW.

2 Balanced Outputs

Located on the rear panel, the two 1/4" balanced outputs let you connect your studio monitors.

With professional-grade outputs, the SSL 2 MKII delivers 120 dB dynamic range, allowing you to hear every detail in your productions—from the most subtle riff to the deepest bass line.

Two Headphone Outputs, Zero-Latency Monitoring

The two headphone outputs (same mix) are conveniently located on the front panel. These reengineered outputs (featuring high-current NJM headphone amps) are capable of driving any type of headphones, from small in-ear monitors to large-diaphragm models.

Now boasting an impressive 119.5 dB dynamic range, SSL 2 MKII gives you all the performance and clarity needed for accurate monitoring in any environment.

The Mix control knob located on the front panel allows you to blend between the USB output (DAW) and live inputs, for zero-latency monitoring.

Legacy 4K Analog Enhancement

Underneath the gain knobs on both input channels, you'll note the Legacy 4K button. This feature helps you bring dull, uninspiring audio to life as you record it, doing so by adding subtle harmonic distortion and a high-frequency boost.

Both are analog processes that take their cue from the sound of the legendary and classic SSL 4000 Series consoles, hence the name 4K.

Next-Gen 32-Bit / 192 kHz

The SSL 2 MKII is built around Next-Gen 32-bit / 192 kHz converters. Compared to the previous generation, it delivers clearer, more detailed recordings, preserving every nuance of your performance.

Capture stunning acoustic performances, record drum machines and synths with more punch and texture. Make your live streams sound like professional broadcasts, and mix quicker and more easily as sounds are more defined.

Professional Studio Quality, Front to Back

SSL 2 MK II features high-quality Neutrik XLR and jack connectors, and ALPS pots.

There are updated switches on the front panel with 5-segment status LEDs, so you know exactly how your device is configured when recording.

A Versatile Solution for Musicians and Content Creators

The black Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone is designed to bring sonic performance distilled from the company's reputable studio condensers to the realm of home recording for podcasters, musicians, and content creators. The capsule features a low-mass, side-address diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern for rejecting ambience and noise behind the mic, a welcome trait when tracking in untreated rooms. It comes with a pivoting stand mount for straightforward attachment to your existing mic stand.

AT2020 Samples from Audio Test Kitchen

B&H is proud to be partnering with Audio Test Kitchen, the world’s most comprehensive online audio product comparison platform, to improve the resources provided to our customers shopping for the right microphone for their given application.

This provides you with the ability to listen to a growing selection of microphones with spoken word recordings captured in a standardized environment, with levels matched by the talented engineers at Audio Test Kitchen in its impressive reference studio.

Audio Test Kitchen records microphones under identical conditions so you can compare them, apples-to-apples. The source, signal chain, and level never change. The only differences you will hear are between the microphones.

Studio Quality at Home

Designed for home/project studio applications, this side-address cardioid condenser mic is engineered for extended frequency response and enhanced transient response. With its studio-quality articulation and intelligibility, the AT2020 is ideal for musicians, streamers, podcasters, and other content creators.

Cardioid Polar Pattern

The AT2020's cardioid polar pattern primarily picks up sound in front of the mic while being far less sensitive to sound behind the mic, allowing it to capture your voice or instrument with reduced background noise.

Ready for Daily Use

Along with its rugged construction and high-performance specifications, the AT2020 provides reliability, high SPL handling, and wide dynamic range. It comes with a space-saving stand mount for 5/8"-27 threaded stands, an adapter for 3/8"-16 threaded stands, and a protective pouch.

Born in the Studio

Bringing the acclaimed features of the M-Series headphones to a price point that's accessible for all, the black Audio-Technica ATH-M20x monitor headphones offer solid build quality and audio performance for musicians and content creators recording and mixing at home. Outfitted with 40mm dynamic drivers and an over-ear, closed-back design, the ATH-M20x headphones deliver enhanced bass response and wide bandwidth (15 Hz to 20 kHz) while isolating you from outside sounds.

40mm Drivers

The ATH-M20x features 40mm dynamic drivers with rare earth (neodymium) magnets and CCAW (copper-clad aluminum wire) voice coils for quality sound reproduction at a competitive price point.

Tuned for Enhanced Bass Response

The drivers and headphone design work together to provide a sonic signature tuned for enhanced bass performance. With a frequency response of 15 Hz to 20 kHz, the ATH-M20x can reproduce a full spectrum of tones.

Over-Ear, Sound-Isolating Design

The ATH-M20x utilizes a circumaural design that contours around the ears for excellent sound isolation in loud environments. This over-ear, closed-back style is optimal for reducing bleed and separating you from outside sounds.

15° Swiveling Earcups

Equipped with 15° swiveling earcups, the ATH-M20x ensures a great fit.

Attached Single-Sided Cable

Keeping it simple and clean, the ATH-M20x incorporates an attached 9.8' cable that exits from the left side. This increases convenience and makes it easier to distinguish the different sides of the headphone.

3.5mm Plug and 1/4" Snap-On Adapter

The attached cable is terminated with a straight 3.5mm TRS mini plug for easy hookup to mobile devices, MP3 players, and computer headphone jacks. A 1/4" snap-on adapter is included for compatibility connectivity with audio interfaces, mixers, and dedicated headphone amplifiers.

Enhanced Protection

The 512-Pop features a metal mesh filter that more effectively disperses pops and plosives from speech and vocals compared to ordinary nylon pop filters. With its flexible yet sturdy gooseneck, you'll easily find the perfect placement that reliably stays in place.

Easy Attachment

An adjustable swivel C-clamp ensures a solid grip and attaches securely to any mic stand, boom arm, or custom desk stand.
