About this item
ABOUT THE BRAND: GAURI KOHLI is a design house creating sculptural objects for the home in marble, onyx, travertine, brass, acacia wood, wool and cotton. Founded in 2012, it is named for its designer, Gauri Kohli, who directs every form, material and finish.
WHAT IT IS: Natural cotton and wool, embroidered into a pillow of sweeping paisley forms worked edge to edge - crimson, cobalt, teal, olive and amber pressed against one another with no ground showing between them. The stitching follows the curve of each form, so every color field carries its own direction. A red cord is set into the seam, matching the back. Red piping and a solid crimson reverse make this the only pillow in the range that works from behind as well as in front - turned over it is a plain block of color, not a blank. The piping draws a hard line where five jewel tones would otherwise run into the upholstery. Five colors, no ivory anywhere. Measurements: 20" W x 20" H Material: Natural cotton and wool blend with multicolor embroidery Color: Jewel-toned crimson, cobalt blue, teal, olive green, and amber on a natural cotton ground; solid red reverse Natural variation: Slight variations in embroidery shading and tone highlight the individuality of each piece Sold as a pillow cover only; insert not included
