About the Book Photographs from the collection of the Cincinnati Historical Society. Book Synopsis With a selection of fine historic images from her bestselling book Historic Photos of Cincinnati, Linda Bailey provides a valuable and revealing historical retrospective on the growth and development of Cincinnati. Before the emergence of the Midwestern industrial centers of Chicago and Kansas City, Cincinnati was the fastest-growing city in what was once considered the West. Throughout its history, Cincinnati's leaders adapted to ever-changing economic forces. Today the city has a diverse collection of institutions that make it a vital cultural center. This volume, Remembering Cincinnati, captures this journey in still photography from various collections in the archives of the Cincinnati Museum Center. The book follows life, government, education, and events spanning two centuries of Cincinnati's history. It captures unique and rare scenes through the original lens of more than a hundred historic photographs. These images portray the events and people important to Cincinnati's history and the building of a unique and prosperous city.
